The Accreditation and Regulatory Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Quality Management and coordinates all accreditation activities of the company including education, needs assessment, survey coordination, application coordination, plans of correction, and all continuous survey readiness activities.

Essential Functions

Serve as lead contact for Joint Commission and resources/support for field staff as adjunct to the Performance Improvement Coordinator

Develop and maintain Joint Commission plan for accreditation for the company and facilitation of new agencies w ithin 18-24 months of
acquisition. Maintains tracking of all provider accreditation status

Tracks and ensures compliance of submitting Joint Commission Evidence of Standards Compliance, Measure of Success, and Periodic Performance
Review

Develops, maintains, and facilitates for home based division and educational plan for staff (appropriate for level of responsibility) to include but
not be limited to new , changed and existing standards & how they relate to policy and practice and Periodic Performance Review process

Communicates pertinent changes to Joint Commission (i.e. branch additions, name changes, etc.) on a timely basis

Maintains Joint Commission extranet contact information and keeps up-to-date w ith leadership changes

Provides education as needed via w ebinars, LHC W ire articles, e-mail, etc. to ensure agencies are kept up-to-date on changes

Assist with other duties, as assigned

Assist in the upkeep of the state specific crossw alks. Maintains up-to-date documents for regulatory changes and state conditions of
participation (CoP) via data entry. Researches data for new state w here LHC is entering.

Assist in Policy and form development and revisions ensuring compliance w ith CoP, and State licensing.

Serve as liaison to field re: policies and regulations on a daily basis. Answ ers daily regulatory questions through e-mail and telephone
interaction.

Research new minimum standards for home care, state practice acts etc for acquisitions in new states and propose policy revisions as needed.
Conducts research at a minimum on state department of health w eb sites, state boards w ebsites, and CDC state regulations.

Maintain knowledge of State and Federal Standards that regulate home health care environment through on-the-job reading and perhaps some
local events.

As needed, assists in development of staff educational presentations including nursing and therapy though traditional presentations and on-line
learning management tool.

Qualifications

Education Requirements
  • Registered Nurse or Bachelor's Degree in associated field
Experience Desired
  • Healthcare quality or accreditation experience preferred
Skill Requirements
  • Computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
